Anybody out there ready to race? Who are the fastest milers in Navarro County?

The 3rd Annual Main Street Mile will be held in Blooming Grove on July 2nd at 10:30am, starting and finishing at the city park. (Just before the Parade begins!) All proceeds for the race will go to Blooming Grove ISD for new track and field record boards. It is $15.00 to enter the race and if you register before June 20th you get an awesome Mainstreet Mile t-shirt too. There will be race day registration from 9:00 to 10:00am. Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 Elementary and Jr. High boys and girls as well the top 2 finishers in each of the following divisions: Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior as well as 19-29, 30-39 and 40 and over. There will also be an overall Champion Award for top Male and Female Finisher. The race will start right before the famous BG Parade. Come and join in the fun!!

Independence Day Parade set for Saturday, July 2nd

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will sponsor a Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, July 2, down main street starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by an Independence Day Program in the City Park. Grand Marshalls will be Veterans of U.S. Armed forces who will also be honored in the ceremony in the park.  The program will include music, races, watermelon-seed spitting contest, a cookie walk, horse shoe pitching, raffles, and food, food, food.  Prizes will be awarded for best float, Most Patriotic Home, and Most Patriotic Dog!!

The Blooming Grove Fire Department will have hot dogs , cotton candy, lemonade, and will host a horseshoe tournament in the park following the Independence Day parade.
