The Blooming Grove Historical Society will sponsor a Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, July 2, down main street starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by an Independence Day Program in the City Park. Grand Marshalls will be Veterans of U.S. Armed forces who will also be honored in the ceremony in the park. The program will include music, races, watermelon-seed spitting contest, a cookie walk, horse shoe pitching, raffles, and food, food, food. The Blooming Grove Fire Department will have hot dogs , cotton candy, lemonade, and will host a horseshoe tournament in the park following the Independence Day parade.
